November 19, 2007
Mr Moshe KANTOR
President European Jewish Congress
I have to congratulate you on a number of things which are equally exciting and important.
First of all, your successful intervention in getting the release of three Jews from a Russian prison is an outstanding achievement especially as I know the background of these people.
Your unbelievable discussion with Mrs Merkel concerning your intended event in November 2008 and your presentation to her of the bar of soap was both brave, fantastic and to the point. I cannot think of anybody else in the world that would have the guts to do this. I thank you in the name of Jewish people.
For your information, we are running a Convention in November 2008 in Vienna where the theme will be Holocaust related. Let us co-ordinate if possible.
I heard that you were in London yesterday; let us meet next time as there are many issues and actions that we should jointly be involved with.
